Proposal to join Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust

Informal events were well attended in November 2025 and all parents have been written to on 18th June regarding to proposed convertion. A copy of this letter, including some frequently asked questions, is attached below, along with some information about Pathfinder.

After a considerable period of investigation, the Governors of Great Ouseburn Primary School have decided that the best way to ensure the school continues to thrive, while maintaining its unique character, is to join a Multi Academy Trust. Thorough investigation identified Pathfinder as the Trust best placed to support the school through high-quality professional development opportunities and partnership working with other high performing schools, whilst allowing us autonomy to retain the things that make our school amazing.
Informal consulation meeting with parents and staff were held in November 2025, with the proposal being well received by the 23 parents who attending along with school staff, governors and Andy Daly, the CEO of Pathfinder MAT. The school and Pathfinder have completed signfiicant due dilligence exercises and the DfE have granted an Academy Order. The expectation is that the school will convert to an academy on 1st September 2026.
