Our Ofsted Report
We feel that our most recent inspection, in 2023, accurately reflected what life at Great Ouseburn Primary School is like. The overall effectiveness of the school was judged to be 'Good'.
Below are the key findings from the Ofsted report:
- The children's behaviour is Outstanding. It was commented that pupils are friendly, polite, respectful and kind to each other and adults.
- The school is committed to the welfare of the children and their families
- Expectations of all children are high, resulting in excellent progress
- Staff are relentless in their drive to achieve best outcomes for children
- The school is fully inclusive, embracing differences
- Pupil's efforts and achievements are celebrated throughout the school
- Children's resilience and determination is developed from an early age
- Teaching is well matched to assessment and accurate questioning ensures that all children are challenged and supported
- The school has an exciting and bespoke curriculum
- Children with SEN are effectively supported and benefit equally from the same curriculum as their peers
- Children enjoy coming to school and they approach learning with a energy and enthusiasm
To improve further we will:
- Continue to work on helping pupils to achieve a deep understanding in all subject areas
